Next in our weekly catch-up with our Beautii experts, is the lovely and extremely talented, Natalia Osipova. With a whole host of skills including body painting, make-up and hair styling, Natalia’s list of clients include ASOS and Dove, and she’s also worked on-set during the filming of Assassin’s Creed and King Arthur.

We caught up with Natalia to discover a little more about her work life and what inspires her as a make-up artist…

What’s your favourite thing about your job?

I’m lucky enough to say that my hobby became my job. I’m an artist and painter and I’ve always been creative, even since I was a child. But now instead of painting on a canvas, I’m painting art on people!

When did you decide to get into the industry?

I decided to get into the industry when I was very young. I’ve always been fascinated by the representation of women and beauty in magazines and TV. A friend of mine once said to me that she felt she couldn’t be as pretty as these women. To me, make-up is the same as art, so I felt that I could make her see how pretty she is with just a little make-up. When she looked at herself in the mirror, her reaction changed my life. Since that day make-up became so important to me; my hope is to make everyone I work with feel this beautiful.

Who has inspired you throughout your career?

I have to say, it’s always been my mother. She always followed her dreams and encouraged me to do them same throughout my career. I could also spend days watching films and reading magazines. Film director and actor, Daniel Phillips plays a huge role in influencing my work; I’ve been really lucky to work with him on some exciting projects.

What are your favourite make-up trends for 2017?

My favourite beauty trend right now is the bold lip look – a clean-cut, red lip with minimal eye make-up and healthy, glowing skin.

Are there any particular celebrity beauty looks that you’re loving at the moment?

I just love Lana Del Rey’s look, natural skin and lips with a strong focus on the lashes.

If you weren’t a make-up artist what would you be doing instead?

I would definitely still be doing something creative, I’d most probably be working in graphic or interior design.

Any top beauty tips to share with our followers?

Never try to change yourself by using heavy make-up, instead let make-up highlight your natural beauty and you’ll look just perfect.
