If there’s one thing we love about working at Beautii, it’s getting to pick the brains of some of the most talented make-up artists and hair stylists in the industry.
Each month we’ll be putting the spotlight on a member of our talented team to find out a little bit more about their career in the beauty industry, how they made it and what their top tips are for looking amazing day and night.
First up, it’s the fabulous and ever-glamorous, Georgiana Teers.
How long have you been a make-up artist/hair stylist for and when did you decide to get into the industry?
I have been a make-up artist for 13-years and a hairstylist for nearly 20. I decided to get into the industry when I was young as I enjoyed seeing the end result of an amazing look and loved – and still love now – how it can make people feel great about themselves.
Who has inspired you throughout your career?
Throughout my career various artists have inspired me. From my very first teacher, artists, actors and singers to my work in the film and fashion industry. I’m also influenced by the ’20s, ’50s and ’60s, and of course contemporary magazines like Vogue and the designs of London Fashion Week. Mentors I’ve had that I love include Sam McKnight and Val Garland, and I also really admire artists like Pat McGrath.
What’s your favourite thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is that I travel. Seeing the world while doing my job and meeting people from all over means that no two days are the same.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
I get my inspiration from everywhere. London is where I find much of my inspiration. Before social media I used to buy fashion magazines from all over the world and compare them, but I still like to make discoveries from real life; feelings, paintings, sculptures and history.
If you weren’t a make-up artist what would you be doing instead?
If I had to choose another job I would still choose something to do with my hands; something creative like painting, pottery or sewing.
How would you describe your signature look?
My signature look is fresh, healthy-looking skin, beautiful eyes and shiny hair great body and movement. I do also have a thing for vintage Hollywood looks.
Any beauty tips to share with our followers?
My favourite beauty tip is to keep the skin as natural as possible – rather than using heavy products, bring out the natural beauty of the eyes, cheeks and lips.
